I was born and raised in North Vancouver, and I’ve built both my career and my family life here on the North Shore. I began my career as a hairstylist, then moved into education, teaching at Carson Graham Secondary School. In 1998, I left teaching to pursue a master’s degree in education, which ultimately led me to open Holly’s Salon and School on central Lonsdale. I owned and operated the business for 20 years, building it into a successful salon and training facility.

Along the way, I was recognized by Chatelaine as one of Canada’s most inspirational women. I was also honoured to receive the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards for “Best Employer” and “Business Person of the Year,” and to be named twice as a finalist for the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards.

My interest in education and community led me to serve as an elected Trustee on the North Vancouver School Board from 2008 to 2011. That experience gave me a strong foundation in public service and local governance.

Giving back has always been important to me. Over the years, I’ve been proud to support many local organizations dedicated to strengthening our community and improving the lives of residents, including Community Cares, North Shore Neighbourhood House, the ALS Society, Abreast in a Boat, Cops for Cancer, Jewels for a Cause, and initiatives supporting women in the Downtown East Side.

In 2014, I was elected to my first term as Councillor with the City of North Vancouver. It is an honour to serve this community, and I’m committed to continuing to bring my experience in business, education, and community leadership to the role.

My husband and I have three sons, and we’re fortunate that they all live here in North Vancouver with their families.
