"I am very happy to learn you are running for re-election for a seat on City Council this fall. I have known you since 2008 when you served as an elected School Trustee while I was the Secretary Treasurer for the North Vancouver School District. I learned then about your dedication to community service as it related to the School District. I always appreciated your willingness to listen and learn about the school district’s issues and concerns and your eagerness to find creative solutions. You also listened to the different stakeholders and worked with all of us to find reasonable resolutions. Since you have been on City Council, I have seen your passion for the community continue to grow. You have played a major role in the renewal of Harry Jerome and Silver Harbour Senior’s Centre and supported numerous affordable housing developments. These projects are all critically important to the north shore. I look forward to hearing your ideas on climate change and medical and mental health accessibility. I know you will use your consultation skills and creative thinking to help find a path forward to resolving these very challenging issues facing our community. I wish you great success in the upcoming election."
Dr. Irene Young

“I endorse Holly to continue in her role as council member for the City of North Vancouver. I have known Holly
over 20 years, and she has always placed the community in the forefront of her thinking.
Holly’s passion to make the City of North Vancouver the best municipality that it can be is evident in her
commitment in making decisions that benefit all citizens. As I am a member of the Squamish Nation, I have
witnessed Holly have an open heart and open mind towards relationship building, and also understanding of
truth and reconciliation.
I am voting for Holly on October 15. We need her at City Hall to ensure that the City of North Vancouver
continues on a path of prosperity."
 Brad Baker

“Tap & Barrel is pleased to be part of the revitalization of Lower Lonsdale. I first met Holly during the process for securing the Shipyards site for Tap & Barrel Shipyards. Holly has become a loyal guest and a friend. Holly has many qualities that serve our community well. She listens and has a knack for bringing the community together to achieve their goals. I consider her a change-maker and she invests selflessly in our community. I am pleased to endorse Holly Back for Councillor with the City of North Vancouver.”
Daniel Frankel, CEO
Tap & Barrel Group

"I have known Holly and her family for over 25 years. And we continue to cross paths at events throughout our community and through volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce and various local charities. On a personal level, Holly is understanding, empathetic, and always looking for the best in people. These qualities also shine through in her role as Councillor. She considers all points of view before making decisions and always has the best interests of our community in mind. I am very happy to endorse Holly for Councillor with the City of North Vancouver."
Cam McLeod

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Holly Back, both personally and professionally for over 25 years. During that time, she has been a successful entrepreneur, educator, community volunteer, School Board Trustee, and Councillor, which gives her multiple perspectives on North Vancouver issues.

Holly’s philosophy is simple – she listens. To residents, to businesses, to all points of view. She tackles challenges head-on, is an independent thinker, and is not afraid to speak out and vote for what she feels it best for our community. Holly is also known for her common-sense approach, a trait that is not as common as it should be!

You will be hard pressed to find someone more passionate about our community.

The City of North Vancouver - both residents and businesses - will be well served by having Holly on Council.”
Dee Dhaliwal

"City Council needs a ‘Holly Back’ to represent the interests of the many thousands of business operators and commercial property owners who pay many times the property tax rate compared to homeowners yet, as a business, do not even have the right to vote. Holly has proven to be supportive of the kind of business expansion that residents want and need. Holly was key in the City’s 2016 approval for the Business Improvement Area, dramatically revitalizing Lower Lonsdale. I wholeheartedly endorse Holly Back for re-election to City Council."
Bill Curtis, Past President
Lower Lonsdale Business Association

"I have known Holly for almost 20 years, first as a student at her hairdressing academy, through to my career as a stylist, and now as co-owner of Hair on 14th Salon. Holly understands the challenges associated with running a business and wants to ensure that every business succeeds.

On a personal level, my family also shares a friendship with Holly. She has been very supportive over the years and wants the best for our community. That shines through in her role as Councillor. She understands that the city's rich diversity is our strength. As a business owner, and a resident, I am confident that Holly always has our best interests at heart.
We wish Holly continued success in her next term as Councillor with the City of North Vancouver."

“As a small business owner in the Shipyards District, it is important to have a council who is supportive and
listens to our needs. I have known Holly for ten years and it was clear when we first met that her vision is
geared towards helping small businesses thrive and be successful. She operates with honesty and integrity,
and I am pleased to support her in her re-election to North Vancouver City council.”

“We have known Holly Back for many years. I have worked with her on several volunteer projects at North
Shore Neighbourhood House as well as with the Vancouver Food Bank. Holly contributes so much to the City
of North Vancouver and is very active at all community events. She has done a wonderful job and we will both
be voting for her re-election in the fall.”
Wendy and Pat Nevison

“How fortunate can a person be to be invited to join a delightful group of people that includes Councillor Holly
Back. Her care for her community mirrors how much she cares for others. She listens to others which is a great
attribute. I could give more praise but just wish everyone to know how proud I am to support Holly. City
Council needs her!”
Lee Grills

“As a young family with school-aged children, we don't always have time to follow city matters. That's why it is
so important to have a councillor who is approachable, who listens, and follows through on her commitments.
Holly always takes the time to listen to my concerns and answer any questions I have - from parks to traffic
calming and everything in between. We are happy to support Holly in her re-election to North Vancouver City
Council.”
