Our vibrant waterfront
The vision for our central waterfront, the Shipyards District and The Quay, is to create a vibrant and exciting place for people to gather - complete with restaurants, shops, museum and art gallery. Once completed in 2019, I anticipate the City’s waterfront will be the ‘go-to place’ and the envy of the Lower Mainland.
I was on Council when the concept for our waterfront was introduced and I saw the value in transforming the Lower Lonsdale area to a vibrant gathering space. And, my goal is to see the project through to successful completion. Between now and then, important decisions will need to be made, including those affecting our budget. I am working hard to ensure that the finished product is not only vital and enjoyed by everyone in the community, but that it proceeds on sound budgeting decisions.
